Неделя английского языка “Famous Characters in English Language Literature"”

23 октября 2017 English Week presentations and performances were a big success!

From Monday to Friday last week (9-13 October), students from pre-school through 11th grade at Odintsovo campus MES took their classmates, teachers and even parents on a magical journey through the English - speaking world!

Every year, English Week at Moscow Economic School becomes a celebration of student inquiry and knowledge pertaining to the English-speaking cultures and peoples of our world. This year, students focused their investigations on characters in English-language literature. Their work was inspiring and showcased what our truly talented students are capable of accomplishing.

In Primary school, students studied nursery rhymes and traditional songs and poems from the UK and the United States, as well as characters from some of the most popular Disney stories. At the final concert on Friday, “Little PYP Heroes”, students sang songs and recited their favorite nursery rhymes. They dressed up as characters from popular children’s movies, books, plays and musicals, and wowed those in attendance with their knowledge of English.

For English Week this year, Middle and High school students analysed characters from classic and popular English language literature. 5th grade students explored the strange world of “Alice in Wonderland”. After choosing a character to research, students created informational posters and presented their character to fellow students from the 6th grade. On Friday, students in the 5th grade performed selected excerpts from Alice’s many adventures.
